Municipality "Tundja" is situated in the South-eastern part of Thracian plain along the picturesque valley of Tundja river. It occupies an area of 1 220 613 decares.

This arranges the municipality on the third place in the country according to territory. It unifies 44 settlements, all of them villages, with population of 29 967 inhabitants. It's administrative centre is Yambol.

The main branch in municipality economy is the biggest part in resident economy. Vineyards and fruit fields are some of the traditional plantations.

There are good conditions for growing up sheep, goats, pigs and cows. There are enterprises for reprocessing vegetable and animal production. There are uncovered deposits of gabro, gold and silver.

The variety of nature gives good conditions for the development of country's hunting and cultural tourism.

On the territory of Tundja municipality are situated the unique anticient mound Drama since IV millenium B.C., the classical Thracian settlement Kabile arisen in IV century B.C., the Bakadjik hills, "Alexander Nevski" temple- statue.

Building transport corridor I-7, control frontier station Lesovo - Hamzabeyli, on the road Turkey- Asia, Thracia highway and road 11-53 will make Tundja municipality a crossing point of important commercial routes on the way to Europe and the whole world.
